What is Theme?

"Theme is the underlying meaning to a story." (Traditions in Literature)

But do you need to think of a theme when writing? I don't think so. I believe theme is determined by your subconscious. Your feelings toward a certain matter automatically go into your writing.

After you write your story, ask yourself about your feelings toward the problem presented in your story. This is most likely the theme of your story.

All stories don't have a theme and a story may have several themes, according to Traditions in Literature.
